Characters: 1 Puss In Boots

So since the trip to New York got cancelled (all thanks to British Airways striking, and THEN more volcanic ash...), I decided to use my time wisely and taking Fig Taylors advice to characterise some generic characters which would be recognisable to authors, so they see the illustration 'blindly' for what it is without trying to understand a concept.

Here's day 1 of 14. Some of them are more conceptual than others, some are people, some aren't. Here we go. First up? Something simple.

Puss In Boots.

The Phlunk Covers

Please please help me! I'm very unsure as to which cover works best. The second one was suggested by the author to show the Phlunks innocence and naivity; but I like the first.

Oh, and I hand felted a Phlunk too.

The Money Seed

Here's a few recent works; its a children's story called "The Money Seed".
I wrote this story in the second year of my degree and decided to revisit it this week.
Below shows the front cover and two artworks.

The Story:
Sophie finds a penny, and when her Mum tells her to look after it and that 'money doesn't grow on trees', she decides to plant it.
The 'money seed' never grows, but Sophie plants every coin she finds.
Meanwhile, a Magpie has been taking all of the shiny coins from Sophie's plant pots. Through guilt, the Magpie and
his friends build Sophie a magical 'money seed' garden with all of the shiny found ephemera that the Magpie has stolen in the past.

The moral? Don't take what isn't yours. Naughty Magpie.
